SkyZap publishes calculators and guides that people use to make consequential decisions about money, business and compliance. This policy sets out the standards we hold that work to.
#Independence
SkyZap is funded by display advertising only. We do not accept payment for coverage, we do not publish sponsored posts, and we take no affiliate commission on any financial product, lender, insurer, installer or software vendor mentioned on this site.
Advertisers have no visibility of, or influence over, editorial content or calculator logic. Ad slots are filled programmatically and we do not know which advertiser will appear next to any given article.
#How our calculators are built
- Every tool implements a documented, standard formula. Where a simplification is made, the tool page says so explicitly.
- Assumptions are exposed as editable inputs wherever possible rather than hidden as constants.
- Default values reflect typical current conditions and are reviewed at least twice a year. The last review date appears on every tool page.
- Outputs are stated as estimates. No calculator on this site produces a quote, an offer, or a guarantee.
#How our articles are researched
- Every article is attributed to a named author with directly relevant working experience.
- Numerical claims are drawn from primary sources — regulator publications, statutory texts, official statistics and provider pricing pages — not from other content sites.
- Where a figure varies by jurisdiction or over time, we state the scope and the period it applies to rather than presenting it as universal.
- We distinguish clearly between what is established fact, what is a defensible planning assumption, and what is the author's judgement.
#Review and updates
Articles that carry time-sensitive figures are reviewed on a rolling basis. When we make a substantive change to an article's conclusions, we update the "Updated" date and note what changed. We do not silently rewrite history.
#Corrections
If you find an error, email hello@skyzap.xyz with the page and the specific claim. We investigate every report. Confirmed factual errors are corrected within five working days and, where the error was material, the correction is noted on the page.
#What we do not do
